With a mini-split ductless air conditioner installation, you can customize the temperature for each room. Each unit comes with its remote, so you can have a different temperature in each room/area that has an air conditioning unit.

You can choose from wall-mounted units or ceiling-mounted cassettes (where attic space is available). Because ductless air conditioner installation takes the refrigerant straight to the room you are cooling, there is no loss of energy from ductwork (as in central AC), saving you money and giving you a much more efficient system.

With a multi-zone unit, you can run up to five indoor units, whether cassettes or wall-mounted units. This means that where space is limited outside, especially in a townhouse, condo, or apartment, you only need one condensing unit outside to handle up to five units inside.

We recommend if space is available, going with single-zone units—i.e., one outside condensing unit for one inside blower unit. The reason is that single-zone units are more reliable, more efficient, totally independent from other units, and usually cheaper than multi-zone units. With a multi-zone unit, if a person in one room decides to turn the heat on, it can interrupt the cooling in another room. In addition, if one multi-port has a maintenance issue, you can lose all the units connected to that port. For optimal performance and efficiency in your home, ductless air conditioner installation is an excellent choice.

There are several excellent brands of mini-spit ductless AC units available, and we can install whichever brand you choose. For example, Daikin, Fujitsu, LG, Mitsubishi, and Panasonic are all top quality, energy-efficient, and stylish brands that are available here on the island. Mini-split systems are not only energy-efficient and quiet, they are also easy to clean, as they come with removable filters. Simply lift the cover on the front, remove the filters, wash gently with soap and water, and replace. Depending on usage, this can be done every few months or so. Wiping the top of the unit will keep it dust free, and a quick wipe on the inside of the lid and on the blades will prevent any buildup of dust, which can lead to mold. Actually, whenever you turn your AC off, if you first turn it to FAN mode for an hour or two, any condensation build up which may occur from turning it off will dissipate, preventing the formation of mold. We have found this simple step will help to keep your unit significantly cleaner. The best solution to cleaning, of course, is to get us to professionally clean your machine every 4-6 months. We can get right inside and get the inner blade cleaned, as well as the other parts. This will keep air flow and cooling power at their peak.

Depending on the number of units, we generally take anywhere from half a day up to 2 or 3 days to complete an install. Each brand offers their own manufacturer’s warranty on the machine, from 10-12 years. We offer a 1-year warranty on labor for all machines we install. After the 1-year, you will pay for labor if we need to come and fix something on the machine. The manufacturer’s warranty will cover either the part needed for repair if necessary, or replacing the machine if necessary.
