We had a fantastic experience with Sun Electric & AC services! We live in a duplex-style condo and they were really patient and helpful with getting us approval from HOA. They really exceeded our expectations by helping us meet all the HOAs demands and regulations. Once we got approval, they were able to schedule us the next week and complete the installation of 3 split A/Cs within a day and a half. Amanda and Richard were super nice and friendly! I called this company to get two split AC units installed, they completed the job on time and at a good price, the quality of the work was top notch. We had a complex install because of old funky power in our house, couldn’t be more happy with how they worked around the issues of our house. The biggest thing with these guys is they are super professional, friendly and trustworthy, just down to earth kind of people, will be using them for future jobs for sure. Highly recommend them. Oh we got the Mitsubishi Split AC’s, has been super quiet and reliable!

Having Sun Electric work on my home was perhaps one of the best professional jobs that I have had done on this house. I’m often hesitant when it comes to a ‘contractor,’ but this was clearly work that I needed (new AC in master bedroom and new voltage system) and work that was well done by Sun Electric. Richard and his son will soon return to complete work on the main side of my home (its about 70 years old), and I am actually looking forward to it. Instead of dreading the much needed updates, my experience with Sun Electric has been quite the opposite. What a difference when you can speak and fully understand a contractor explaining the work to be done. My house presents a bit of a challenge but I have little doubt that it will done quite properly.

We used Sun Electric to upgrade our electrical panel and install five new mini splits (2 — 3/4 tons, a 1 ton and 2 – 2 tons) in our home in Kailua. Richard was tidy and accommodating and we felt his pricing was fair. We were so happy we had him return to install ceiling fans, change all our light switches and outlets, add new lights and the list goes on and on. We have done many other AC installs over the last two decades and remodeled many homes and this is one of our most seamless installs to-date. I would recommend Richard to anybody without hesitation!!!

Richie and his crew are top notch professionals! We had 5 ductless units installed last year (Oct 2019) when it was sweltering hot, and I was 8 months pregnant. We really wanted to make sure our home was cool and comfortable for the arrival of our son. From start to finish, no questions were left unanswered, and we were very comfortable throughout the entire process. They put together detailed info with pictures and descriptions of each location of the unit, condenser, ducting, and drainage for submission to our HOA. In just a few short weeks we had super icy AC, as well as some additional outlets in our closet and kitchen island. Our HOA had not approved a request for ductless AC installation in such a short period before ours. We are now the example for entire HOA. Sun Electric and AC Services sets the bar high! We highly recommend (and always recommend to friends inquiring) and will continue to use their services for all our electrical & ac needs.

#1 AC company in my opinion!  A joy to work with, and I would highly recommend and refer them to anyone who wants a great experience and great results.  Extremely professional and courteous, responded quickly and were out right away to walk thru what I wanted done, and explain my options to me for the best way to get it done (even if its not the most expensive). They had by far the most professional quoting process, that was line itemized and extremely easy to understand and walked thru it with them so we were 100% on the same page with our expectations for the execution for the scope of work. Went over everything with me when they arrived to install the new units, making sure the location of the split units, condensers, and even wiring was just where I wanted it.  I left and came back a few hours later to have them walk me thru the work completed and make sure I knew how everything functioned and also how to maintain it properly. Couldn’t ask for a better experience or result.  Awesome to find people and companies like this!!

Sun Electric is prompt, easy to work with and transparent about costs up front. They squeezed us in the same day when the split a/c unit in our small child’s room stopped working. After ordering parts, they returned as soon as the parts arrived to do the repair. We also had 3 units cleaned, which they did the same day. We could not be happier with the work or professionalism. I found this company here on Yelp so I decided it would be best to leave my review for others. I left a message and Amanda called me back the same day and sent her Tech Gopala to our home. Our AC units were not blowing cold air and Gopala new exactly what it was and changed our thermostats. The turn around time and service time was all the same day. Gopala called me and kept me informed of what he was doing and what needed to be done. ( he also sent me pics) communication with Gopala is  he’s very easy going and takes the time to explain things in basic non AC language to me. Most importantly he knows what he’s doing! I live off island so the communication was key in getting this fixed. Definitely recommend this company and Tech Gopala! They will be servicing all 6 of our homes AC units from here on out.

Responsive and very helpful. Of the multiple HVAC companies that I went to, the guys at sun electric acted quickly. I needed a trizone split ac installed in my highrise condo within a month and they got it done within my timeframe. I like that they are licensed for both electrical and ac which gave me the confidence it would be done right. They were even able to help me fix a few old electrical items in my condo that weren’t up to electrical code.

Sun Electric and AC installed a large split in our family/dining/kitchen area and a tri-zone split system in our 3 bedrooms.  This is a family run business that offers great communication.  The initial quote was quick and they helped us select the model sizes we needed and the Fujitsu product line (the also carry Mitsubishi and maybe others).  We price shopped three companies.  From our experience with a previous installation and competitor quotes, we felt the cost was fair.  They were able to come do the install about a week after we paid our deposit.  Our job was a little bit complicated because I wanted to hide as much of the refrigerant and condensate lines as possible so I had them routing through closets.  Some of the units had just enough space to squeeze in and they were able to pull it off.  We also needed one of the outside units mounted to the side of our house, and the other installed underneath our house.

The end result is a clean looking installation.  I was consulted on how I wanted new electrical to be routed and condensate drains were consolidated to reduce the amount of spaghetti under our house.  Walls were wiped clean and all trash was removed from the property before they left.  I felt the Sun Electric team treated our property with respect and even took care of a mess that another contractor left so that I wouldn’t be bothered with it (without even mentioning it to me).  They also promptly delivered our permit and warranty registration.

AND… although most people don’t usually consider hiccups to be a selling point of a contractor, I will say that while we were the odd ball out and had a few issues that required troubleshooting after the initial install, and Sun Electric came out within 2 days to do the fix, which gives me great confidence looking forward that if we have any problems they will be able to help us out.
